You would think that a teenager coming to the island would be bored. She/he is going to roll their eyes and sigh all the time. But I'll tell you, that IS not the case! I actually have the objective evidence of a 15-year old daughter who knows how to roll those eyes, but on Wellesley Island she doesn't do that. So what is the secret? Letting her sit with her phone glued to her hands or hold on to the laptop all the time? No, no and no. She really enjoys coming up to the island. And I am not lying.
It takes us approximately 5 hours to drive from CT to the island. Well, it depends on who's driving, me or Jonas. Go figure! Just gotta love Waze.
Well, back to our teenager. What does she do on an island? First of all, she has her own room where she can relax, read (that's what I'm hoping she's doing) or draw. Sometimes she brings out the big puzzle and sits on the floor for hours and being quiet, which doesn't happen often. The quietness, I mean.
With such a beautiful environment and the lovely gravel road, the road tempt you into a nice walk or why not a run. Our daughter is doing that more or less every day. After the run, she works out near the water so she can jump in when she is done. And it doesn't matter if it is October (and no ice). Did I tell you I am originally from Finland, and that means she is half Finn and we have this weird thing of jumping into cold water. Usually that requires a sauna. And one day I am going to build a sauna here. Wohooo!
What is left after reading, running and swimming? Go boating and fishing, of course! As mentioned before, the fishing part is not from me. I can see myself sitting there (with a fishing license of course) dipping the fishing pole into the water. But when the pole starts jerking, I am done! Looking into the fish's eyes is not the greatest pleasure. Not for me at least.
Here are the "objective evidences" of a teenager on an island:

| The Teenager boating and the looks are important. I'm rolling my eyes... |

Stay tuned!
